One Dead Reef

Reminds me of the scene in The Big Lebowski, my all time favorite movie.
:D:D:D

Love the reef decoration idea-
I spread my Dad's ashes from my boat in the Cape Fear River, Nov '97...
He would have liked the idea of heaving a molded chunk of cement in the shape of the Forrestal into the water!
:seeya:

1966 Miami-Nassau Race, Skip Allen and Pete Welch ran the "Broad Jumper", a 28' Donzi belonging to Bill Wishnick. They carried the ashes of Pete's mechanic from his Hatteras dealership in Ft Lauderdale, intending to disperse them in the Gulfstream during the race. When Pete opened the urn, the slipstream sucked all the ashes out, and directly into the supercharger on th port engine. Cough! cough1 blat! hack!, and then hmmmmmmmmm, smooth as silk. What a way to go!

Ya can't keep a good wrench down Brownie, even in death :)

I remember watching a Speedvision GT race a few years ago where Lou Giglioti won and on the cool down lap there was a huge cloud of grey smoke that came out of his Vette's cockpit. My first thought was "electical fire?" But during the post race interview Lou said it was one of his friends getting a proper scattering, on track after a race win. Super cool tribute.

I had to laugh at your "Lebowski-like" experience with your ex-father-in-law's ashes.

After my grandfather passed away, my father and his two brothers took his ashes out on the boat to scatter them near his favorite crabbing spot in Barnegat Bay. Between the three of them, not one considered the wind direction, and as my Dad dumped them over the side, his two brothers were instantly covered in the ashes.

Knowing my grandfather, he was laughing his azz off if he was watching. :sifone:
