"Great write up on Gellner Engineering by Bob Sandrick

Sam Gellner is 72 but he can’t slow down.

How can he? He’s been in the speed business his entire life.

Sam owns Gellner Engineering Inc., a designer and builder of custom-made supercharged and normally aspirated engines on Brookpark Road in Parma.

Gellner’s engines go into drag, road and oval track racing cars and offshore power boats that compete — and win — all over the country.

The 40-year-old company is still celebrating two victories in mid-November. Two power boats with Gellner engines finished first in the Super Boat International World Championships in Key West, Fla.

The competition is a series of 100-mile-long offshore races involving more than 80 power boats from around the world.

Both Gellner boats, competing in different classes, beat nine others in their respective races — and without supercharged engines like other boats.

“We were the underdogs,” said Dean Gellner, 38, Sam’s son and Gellner Engineering’s head engine builder. “It was a pretty big accomplishment because ......"

1st I saw of it here or anywhere. cool family pic, I need to do that with a roll of rug:o[not as cool as a blower motor] haha with my bro/sis/dad. my saying is IF YOU WANT THE RELIABILITY OF A DIESEL, AND THE POWER OF A TURBINE YOU NEED A GELLNER ENGINEERING BLOWER MOTOR cause they run like the lil purple bunny, make great power and last more than 15 mins and run just look at the old A class boat that won this years P5 CLASS they ran 4 seasons one time on a dean motor with oil changes tune ups high rpm , and if I get my sponsor this year I should be in a few races in P4 with gellner power in the saber 28. its nice to see a hard working family get some credit cause without great engines it doesn't matter how good a race team is driver or throttleman if your motor chits the bed during a race. I may have to name my new boat MISS GELLNER instead of my wifes name MISS DONNA MARIE:cheers2:, but oops that could be painfull she is a ex kung fu instructor, well there was a sf 36trojan I been looking at to send to costa rica to work himmm. congrats Dean. PS that looks like a ford with the blower???
