Andy..Ive had 3 23's..A Contender, Regulator and my favorite by far is the Albury Brothers..and they are very close to where your dad lives.. The ride is superior cause of the way the hull is designed from the sharp entry that cuts the water like a knife going through hot butter..Its perfect for 2-3'..and is an extremely stable platform due to the round flat stern area in the boat..Extremely dry and the spray rails due their job in heavy seas. Check them all out..but most important go for a ride. This is what did it for us..never a thump, just a soft landing every time,,great for my back. Here's a few pic's and the website..The owner is Jeff Lichterman, straight shooter, excellent service after the sale as well..561-373-1370...call me if you or your dad has any Q's.
