Anybody ever bought back their old boat?

I had a guy come by and look at my boat on sunday and he was telling me that he had bought and sold his same boat 4 different times. It was a classic offshore project and it just turned out that each guy would buy it, throw some money into it, get discouraged and sell it for about half of what they had in it.

He said the boat kept getting cheaper each time he bought it but the value was going up because of all the work each seller had done to it.

Just thought it was an amusing story. I told him to keep up the good work and in a couple of years he could have a finished boat and paid barely anything for it!

This ever happen to anyone else? I get rid of my boats for a REASON, to never EVER see them again!

My dad bought back his 1969 Chevelle that he bought back in college, but never a boat. I would bet that it doesn't happen that often with boats...most if the time you buy a new boat because you want to upgrade...

My frfiends dad did that with a cig , he had to completely re do the boat but he owned it when it was new. Now it's new again.

Not me but my sister did.
I traded in my 16 Hustler for a 21' Cudy. A few months later my sister bought my old boat from the dealer.
I didn't know untill 5-6 month later. :)
I would love to buy that ole' 16' suicide rocket again.

We traded in one of our older boats for our Larson a couple years ago. They came and picked it up in late fall and when we went to the marina in the spring to pick up our new boat, our old boat was sitting uncovered and looked totaled. It was actually sort of upsetting seeing something you took so much time to keep clean and pristine, covered in mildew and all wet on the inside.

My Dad did. He bought a 1969 18' Imp right off the showroom floor. He sold it in 1974 to a buddy; and bought it back in 1978. It had been used 4 times. He kept that boat in pristine condition until 2001 when he sold it. I had just bought my 26' Sonic. My sister is an airline pilot so he can travel pretty easily and he gets to boat as much as he wants to this day.

i think he was trying to call you out on a gramatical error, but the sentence is taken out of context.. He was thinking you called your sister a "he"..

Billy bought Bad Boy Billy back from from National Marine's bank a few years ago and sold it again! :leaving:

I think it was still in his name and he just went and picked it up !! No he did trade that in for the 1st 51.

It was Billys neighbor with the cig too if you ever saw it there in the lift . Brown and white / cream hull
