Monday morning post-superbowl report.
Well, it all started Friday night. I had anticipated leaving a little early to get a jump-start on the weekend - hit the liquor store, stop by the meat market for some grillin' fare and the grocers for some fixin's - then settle in for a laid-back weekend avoiding the craziness in Tampa this weekend. Soon after I arrive home, I get a call from a very good friend of mine who had just made it in to town from NY with some super bowl tickets in hand, and a crazily-hatched plan to tear up the town this weekend. I am informed that I have an hour to make preparations, as the limo is already on the way. Okay, what the hell?...:biggrinjester: The summbitsh shows up with a stretch hummer, a nice little entourage of spring chicks and a stocked bar. Off to dinner we go, got a nice little bite to eat at the Salt Rock, from which we were eventually asked to leave. :26: From there things turned better yet. We drive into the heart of Tampa, and hit a few of the finer late-night gentlemens' establishments - it is at this point that one has to make some critical decisions: Full Nude and no Liquor or mostly-nude and full liquor. Hmmm?...Of course everyone who's anyone is in town this weekend. Dennis Rodman isn't as tall as I'd thought, and Carmen Electra looks better in the pages of Playboy. The place is just engulfed in madness and mayhem. Good times; we end up back home sometime just before the sun's due to rise. The following afternoon, briefly after regaining consciousness, it's time for round 2 - a few warm-ups at various beach hangouts, a little filler for lunch, and off we go again. Back into Tampa for a little NFL experience, and a few parties at Channelside. I'd never seen so many people in one place at one time, except for maybe the Thanksgiving day parade in NY (but this was far more enjoyable)...More good times on Saturday, the atmosphere is thick with excitement, and wild people having a wild good time; my kind of weekend. I don't know what it is about heavy-handed bar-tenders, a taunting rock band which coupled with a few thousand rowdy football fans makes hot women take their clothes off, but no one was complaining, certainly not I. Sadly, the bars close at 3am, so it was eventually time to make our way out again for a little R&R.
Sunday of course was the big game day, and a hell of a game it was. It ended well, in my opinion, and was about what we had expected; a good, close back-and-forth match, albeit with a few questionable calls. Oh well...
Here it is Monday, and things are a bit foggy, but it'll sure be a weekend to remember. :sifone:
So, thoughts on the game???...
