Those plastic doo-hickeys for wrapping electric extension cords around work good for 1/2 x 150' anchor lines, easy on, easy off. And cheap!!!

Initially, yes. I know somebody that used one of those but he had to break the winding handle off so it would fit in his anchor locker. They take up a lot more room then the cheapy 'manual' ones. He ended up throwing his out and going with the cheapy ones, but to each there own
I can fit 150' of roped wrapped up in the same bag with my medium box anchor, simple and easy.

It works pretty good and folds flat out of the way in its neat little sack it comes with when not in use. . I've used it upriver (Maumee) where the bottom is all rocky and I could never get a spade anchor to hold and out at WT in the muck that's on the bottom out there. I just toss it in, back up about 50 feet or so and give it a few good tugs until it sets.
That it does. I usually bring it up, then drop it about 5-6 feet below the bottom of the boat, tie it to the side cleat, and idle for awhile until it cleans itself off. Usually by the time I get the rope wound up its clean and ready to go.

David - It was great seeing you guys again this year! You're always a pleasure to visit with. Too bad Jennifer couldn't come, we missed her. Looking forward to the next one already (3 mos. to go).
Rob - glad you were able to spend a couple days with us. You're always welcome here.

I may have to get the extension cord wrap for the line. Something that will be small and fit properly.
We had a box anchor. I sold it a few years ago. It hooked everytime, but it's very heavy and takes up a lot of room compared to a Fortress IMO.Queen of Bammin'
