Upper Gimbal Ring Pin Seal Leaking
    #1
Have an upper gimbal Ring pin leaking when I stop and wave catches up to the boat. In the Bravo Drive manual it shows a seal that goes over the pin, mine must be bad.

What is involved in replacing the seal. I had the gimbal rings replaced several years ago by drilling the hole in the sides of the housing. Can the seal be replaced through that hole.

    Thanks for any help.

Yes. The seal actually sits UNDER the transom assembly hole (kind of "sandwiched" in between the ring and the transom assembly).

www.jrmarine.com - check this site out to get an idea of what is involved, and to order your parts. Your cause for concern will be if the pin has worn/rusted, and tore up the ring. That website I linked should show what I am talking about, and he can fix it for you.

Mine were leaking last year - I just pulled the engines out in the Spring and fixed them.
