Spectator fleet will be kept east of the pits.

Shooting from land, the pier would be the closest to the action.

If you mount a chair on top of the canopy, he should be able to get some really good pics during the race.....

I'd suggest a waterproof camera housing though........

Interesting thing.

To fly from Grand Rapids to Patchgue is over 9 hours fly/layover time. Plus get to the airport early by one hour minimum etc., and it's a 40 minute drive plus rental car pickup..... I figure about 12 hours total from the house to the race site. And $700 per person.

To drive is 12 hours 19 minutes according to Mapquest.
