WOTW2E stands for "waitin' on the warranty 2 expire" then whipples! I would like to see a solid 80.

I know, I know the warranty has already expired...but so has my income, so the whipples wait.

Screw the whipples you need CUBIC INCHES.

I have had mine to 82.3 on gps so far. That's it for me until I get the external and tabs put on. I have alot more throttle left and another 1100 rpm's. Just an old 240 sport with a 3" raised X dimension, a few extra bulkheads, and no wood except the transom.

496 HO's and I've hit 71 GPS. I was hoping for a little more out of it, but I've never had less than a half a tank of fuel in it so that may make a bit of a difference. We will see at the end of the season.

How did you get the 3"s? Shortie or just raise the drive? What is your X at now, 18"?

I haven't cut mine yet. Trying to decide between 17" and 18"...It used to be at 15".

I raised the outdrive. If I remember right I am I am at 18.25". It still hops right on plane even without tabs and a 30" prop. It is a different boat with the raised X, it rides much better. It will blow out occasionally on slow hard turns if I don't tuck the drive all of the way in but other than that it is all positve.

Just finished install of 540 horse 502s, boat ran 69 GPS with HP400s. Should run mid to high 70s. Have to wait until we are done with snow storms to find out. Think Spring!

Your boat with 500HP should run 70-71 MPH. I gained 5MPH with one of Bobs cams but I went from a Crane flat tappet cam. Since you already had a roller I would think a 3-4 MPH gain would be expected. Depends on what you told him you wanted to do. Get a GPS and see what she does!!!

I no longer own the boat, but thought the vid was appropriate. 1990 210 ESS with a fairly nasty NA 496. Best top end I ever saw was 98.6. Put the boat back to stock before selling.
