The fact that its lifted is a problem, lowers the tow capacity and makes you have to use a drop down receiver which is not as strong.

    Tim,

Can you see the hitch that's on there underneath? It looks as if it's a special setup. Wonder who built it and what the rating is? If it's done correctly, it wouldn't lose capacity like a normal dropdown, would it?

No Paul I did not might be ok but I still don't like lifted trucks for towing.Maybe its a personal thing but we had this conversation about another truck once and the general opinion was stock ride hight was better for towing

As long as the mods where matched up and the truck was driven right you should have no real issues. My dad has an 04 with some mods on it, Tq convertor , shift kit, Bigger exhaust , Bigger turbo, power programmer, and soon bigger injectors. Truck gets 24mpg on the hwy without a load on. Makes me want to scrap my Hemi

what year is that truck? They changed the motor in 2007 I think.

I know there has been alot of discussion about the 5.9 cummins /6.7 cummins.

We have a 5.9 Cummins in our 2000 Dodge 3500 dually. 250,000km's runs like a swiss watch. Excellent motor.

I would look into that as well.
