Welcome to Serious Offshore.
Please read the rules in the board information section. We hope you can respect our simple rules and avoid any dealings with us moderators. We don't want to be the bad guys. Our job is to do as little moderation as necessary. Your job is to assure we can succeed at ours.
Have a look around. I'm sure you will see lots of familiar faces. The joint is about to start really hoppin and Serious Offshore is destined to become your new boating home on the web.
Welcome aboard one and all.

11-03-2008 01:05 PMFirst off: Welcome, and Enjoy the Site.
On behalf of our administrators and moderators, we kindly ask the following:
Report Posts
Each and every post had a report button. We ask that you make use of this little gem in the event that you come across a post that you feel may not completely coincide with the community standards of this site. When you report a post or thread, it immediately alerts us to a potential problem, and it improves our abilities to provide a great place to hang out. As this is a growing community, there's a lot going on and it can be a real challenge to see and hear everything written in every post of every thread of every forum.
Topical Discussion
We kindly request that we all stay mindful about where we're posting what...it simply makes life so much easier for all, knowing where you're going find what particular subject matter.
GBD (General Boating discussion) = on the dock
Racing = competition
Porn = in bad boys (and girls)
Bullcht & banter = in the bar
etc., etc.,
Photo Formatting
Pictures are worth a thousand words, and we encourage the use of all mediums to share your prized captures. Of course, you can upload your pics directly to the site if you choose, alternately, many members upload their pics from other hosting sites (such as photobucket, flickr, etc.). This is fine and well, but please keep the size of the pictures to a reasonable size. After much discussion, let it be known that generally 800 x 600 allows for comfortable viewing for the majority of folks who surf this site. We understand that some of us are viewing on nice, big screens which can handle larger sizes, but for most people the limits are smaller. When one links to some 3000 pixel photo, it really bogs things down and it negatively effects the thread formatting.
Please bear with us on this.
Many thanks, enjoy, and welcome!

That is a good question, and of course... today being the first day of registered folks... we wouldn't have seen it.
Do you have a "user CP" button to the left of the "Upgrade Membership" button?Warning: This post may contain language unsuitable for minors or math not suitable for liberal-arts majors.

No option for a custom avatar in the CP.

Ok... I have posted something for the admins about avatars for registered members.
I will try to get an answer asap. I do not recall anything about not allowing this. Maybe is just a setting. Please bear with us, everybody is in Key West.Warning: This post may contain language unsuitable for minors or math not suitable for liberal-arts majors.
