Reading and looking at this thread is like looking at old pictures from when you were yound and saying; WTF were we thinking wearing something like that OR, WTF kind of hairdue did I have... It;s like thinking to yourself, what Apache from the 80's and 90's didn't have some pink paintwork?
However, I think some of the "hot" boats of TODAY with multi-color wild paint jobs will be viewed the same way in 10-15 years.

02-03-2010 12:43 PMNo but he did own an icecream shop called "crazies" and I'd venture to guess he had more money than most people on this board.
May he RIP.

02-03-2010 05:22 PMTom, you have a timeless boat!
I tell everyone that it doesn't matter cause; "it's all pink inside"
As for John, he flew to work in a helicopter every morning.... Two of the fondest memories I have of the guy was first when I was about 14 yrs old.. I was surfing at his beach club (Chapel), we were getting a heavy swell from a hurricane.. I'm sitting out in the line-up and I hear a boat coming... Back then John had a 35' Fountain painted in aquaflage (like camo but on the water) and here he comes, WFO down the beach wearing a helmet and lifejacket... He turns to the horizon and you would see the boat, then it would get airborne and then dissapear between the swells... My jaw dropped wide open. I mean, it's literally a hurricane swell!
Another time, when I had my Scarab, there was a poker run going on... For what ever reason I hadn't been invited to this private run so I was down at the dock and John was idling up the river with about 15-20 other boats behind him... He wave's to me and says; "come on", I then told him "I wasn't invited", he says, "well, I'm inviting you, so come on!".... Fired up the engines and off we went!!Last edited by Geronimo36; 02-03-2010 at 05:34 PM.

I can't believe this one didnt make the cut. The power made up for it back then... 3xMerc 800's and 6's. Pretty tough in 1997.
