So, mix 9 parts beer, one part transom assembly and two parts drill with paint stripper wheel and this is what you get...

Sean, I was at work last night went you sent me the pics.
Didn't have the chance to reply.

You're getting into one of my style projects...
Just keep getting yourself in deeper and deeper...

Next time I get a weekend off, maybe I'll head out your way.
    You've got sofa space, right?

    #4 huh?

    Don't know much about them.
I thought the only desirable drives are the 3A, and the 6.
Scott, don't take that as a knock to the 4, I just don't hear much about them.

Freeze-Frame and Sharkey have been camping in the front yard at Seans place when they aren't out at the events. Jayboat hasn't made it out West yet, but I think he'd be up for it.
They figure that there is an opportunity there

Take this for what it's worth, but from what I've gleaned... #3 has small shaft internals and a deep lower, #3A is like the 3 but with bigger internals. #4 is sort of like a shortly #3 and a #5 is like a shortly 3A. That's what I got from reading through some stuff and talking to people. Whether it's right or not, I can't really say. I have been fantasing about putting a speedmaster on the boat. I believe Tunnel Vision ran a #4 on a box and Daredevil Scott happend to have one for sale I think (might have been a #5) so it kinda fit...

And there's your overly described internal monolouge for the day.

Almost correct,,,but the #4 also came with a big shaft and later polygon upper gears and was almost as strong as a #5 also the lower housing on a #4 is a tat faster then #5,,,upper is the same and they have the exact same dimensions.
    And yes i still have a few 4's ,5's,3'sand 3a's !!!!!

The polygon #4 big shaft and the #5 and 3A are rated at the same HP ( 750-800 HP ) they can take up to 1200 easy ,,the reason beying rated @ 750-800 was because bacj then this was the biggest engine package from merc.

That's what it had on it before I bought it (3a, I think)... I know the hole is bigger so you probably wouldn't have to fill, just recut. Only thing is, I don't know how tall the drives are but I'm guessing they're like a TRS (longer) so you hmay have to fill if the new, higher cutout wouldn't cover the bravo hole. Also the motor would have to be pushed forward to make room for a trans...

#4 would give u higher X then the Bravo,,also only a little re-cut and engine moved forward. Thats it.

Actually not that much work, if u have room ,which u should if it had tranny's befor.
