Posting this for my neighbour.....nice old guy......'08 F250, has the built in elct trailer brake set up.....if he has it in 'automatic' mode the trailer brakes dont work......if he has it in 'manual' mode he can lock all 6 wheels in his big Airstream house trailer.......the dealer keeps saying "they're fine, they just work so smooth you cant even tell they're working........" He says if you open the window and listen you can normally hear the brakes slowing the trailer and they are definitely not working in the "auto' mode.....all elect brakes btw.....anyone hear of this?

05-29-2009 09:05 PMIsn't there a modulation switch that will enable him to regulate the amount of braking force in Auto mode? My 2006 has one. It is on a scale of 1-10. I like 7-8 for towing the boat (#10,500) and about 4-5 towing a car trailer (#4,500).
