Freeze, IMCO kicked butt, but came in 40 lbs light. The 100lb penalty of 2 minutes knocked us back to third.

We had fun. We raced hard and pushed everyone the long way around the course. State Dock was wild. I have pix to post this evening. Just got home last evening.. Lots to do today.

    OSS Took On Extra Crew

    During Race Weekend from the

    Special Olympics of Kentucky and

    Shriner's Hospital for Children

LAKE CUMBERLAND, KY - When the Offshore Super Series (OSS) Powerboat Racing Association brought its race to Lake Cumberland, KY during the weekend of May 15-17 they delivered a whole lot more than high speeds and flashy powerboats. Through the generosity of their sponsored charity, OSS Cares, there were a few extra smiling faces cheering on the teams from the sidelines.

Patients and families of the Lexington, KY branch of Shriner's Hospital for Children, as well as athletes from the Special Olympics of Kentucky (SOKY) and their families, received V.I.P. treatment throughout the weekend of the race. In addition to a behind the scenes tour of the powerboats and a meet and greet with the racers and their teams, the families were granted access to all of the weekend's events-allowing them to watch the race and attend the award ceremonies.

"OSS Cares is an amazing charity that really represents why I love racing with OSS. It's not only about the great teams that are associated with us, but also about our fans and the communities we visit," said Josh Lamirato, a member of Team Never Forget. "I really enjoy meeting these remarkable people."

Rinna Tarter, a five-year-old Shriner's patient, and her mother created a memorable story for the weekend. As Rinna arrived to see the teams and

take a boat tour, she started off very shy and quiet. By the end, she was laughing, smiling, and jumping up and down after getting a tour of the Miss Geico boat.

"Being able to make Rinna that happy made me realize the importance of OSS Cares and how great it is to be able to share my passion for the sport and make someone's day with such little effort," said Scott Norton, Crew Chief for the Miss Geico team.

The next stop for OSS and OSS Cares is Sunny Isles Beach, FL from June 12-14, where a whole new group of people will get to experience firsthand the life of an OSS racing team member for a weekend.

OSS Cares represents the humanitarian hearts of the OSS Family and is a way of demonstrating the commitment OSS has to the communities visited during race season. OSS Cares supports a wide variety of causes that reflect the core

values of the entire OSS Family in an effort to use the passion that the teams have for the sport to make a difference in the lives of the people who need it most. Visit www.offshoresuperseries.com/osscares.cfm to learn more about OSS Cares and the organizations it supports.
