The owner picked it up yesterday morning & it will be here in the shop no later than next monday for me to so some paintwork on..

    2010 SS 6-Speed

I will post some pics of it when I get it done if you guys are interested..?
It is getting black stripes over the hood & decklid & they will be done a bit differant than the factory is doing them not only in fact that they will be painted on instead of vinyl & will be completely burried under the clear with no edge but they will be a bit differant in design as well..

These crappy cell phone pics. do the pearl orange color no justice whatsoever..
Make sure you post pics when you are done......

The car got a complete catback system on it friday which woke the exhaust note up real nice.. I have the stripes on the rear deck lid & spoiler in the booth & drying the base as we speak.. I intended on shooting a few pics of the stripe layout before I started spaying but after 10 hrs here at the shop & another couple to go I forgot to bring the camera in.. After all saturday is supposed to be my day off.. lol.. I have my design all done & plan on shooting the hood monday or teusday..

I don't know I just don't care for it that much. All American Chevrolet has a few of them on the lot down the street from me(black, silver and yellow) and I'm just not crazy about the front grill or the rear end. The back looks like a Cadillac to me. Mattor of fact, I heard rumor it's based on the Cadillac XLR?

I like the Challenger better as far as looks and I'm a Chevy guy.. I think the Challenger looks much more like a Muscle car and to me the Camaro looks nothing like the old ones.

Sorry to steal the pics... but they look nothing alike to me.

    Ok, I'll go now...

For those that asked for pics. here are some shots of the decklid & spoiler that I got back on the car today I havn't put the SS emblem back on yet b/c I had the placement photo I took on my computor here at home instead of the shop for some reason.. Anyways I got the hood shot late last night & have plans of buffing it out tomorrow.. It turned out really nice, the contrast between the pearl orange & the straight black looks sweet & the pics don't justify that esp taken from my crappy cell phone..

It did not dawn on me until I started seeing the new challenger around town just how short the hood is and how huge the bustle is. Even though I loved the prototype show car, I am starting to see a charger (which I don't like) every time I see a challenger.

Your comparo photos really bring it to the surface for me.

The Challenger is definitely bigger than the Camaro, I don't see it but it's all good!

Anyone able to confirm if the new Camaro is in fact a Cadillac XLR?

I also heard a rumor Ford might release a Turbo V-6 for the Mustang? http://www.mustangblog.com/blog/1017...r-2010-mustang

I am not claiming to be a Camaro or any other design or engenieering expert ect.. by any meens, but as for the Camaro being a Cadillac XLR ?? I have heard that before but its not really possible in my opinion & ifso its a bargin at half the price.. lol.. I realize that just with any other "new" car line ect.. that they use design & engineering from previous cars ect..ect.. (whether they be in there line up or not) But with both of these cars being unibody cars its not like its possible to just drop another body on another car & call it a "----". I do know that the wheelbase on the XLR is over 6" shorter.. Also not sure about the suspensions or all the drivetrain comparisons details ect.. but the engines are completley differant as well.. If I'm not mistaken the XLR runs a 4.6 V-8 v/s the Camaro's 6.2 that makes a little over 100hp more

Not sure I helped anybody much with that question but its just what I see & my opinion..

I just finished with final watersanding on the hood & trying to match good ole factory orange peel so I am about start buffing.. So I will throw up a pic. when I'm done & try to get one of it on the car this afternoon..

Thanks !! As with allot of other things they look much better in real time..
I didn't want to got the factory route on the stripe layout for a few reasons..
I didn't want to hide the "fo" vent in the front bumper by bringing the stripes over the top of it.. Also I didn't want to just chop them off in the rear as I have seen most of the newer ones..

For whatever its worth If you look at these as compaired to the 69 they are just completely opposite on the ends as far as the radius's on the corners goes.. Which I thought was pretty cool & fit the new car much better in my opinion..

    Came out nice Scotty!

It's funny, I've owned my '68 Camaro for 22 years, and I've spent crazy money and time building a '67 Camaro SCCA Trans-Am clone but the new Camaro doesn't do anything for me.

I'd probably go with the Charger over the Challenger or the Camaro. Then again, I'd probably go with an F550 over all three!

    Thanks Sean !!

"again, I'd probably go with an F550 over all three!"
((However it better have something loud, fast & cool attached to it !!!))

There you go !! To be completley honest & to not much of your surprise I'm pretty much the same way.. I work on new stuff on a daily basis & to be honest "would I drive it ?" Why yeah ofcourse "would I buy it ?" No.. I am just not into the whole latest greatest car scene.. Not knocking it, its just not my bag..
