looking at a 10 meter

I can tell ya they turn like they are on rails......Very tough boats.....easy konrad swap and throw as much power in them as you like.....

The bottom is basically a 30 Excalibur, since that was the origin of the boat. The early Fountains were built on par with the Cigarettes of the time- quality materials and laid up heavy. Like all performance boats of that age, you need to look at tabbing delamination, striger separation loose bulkheads, cracking at the strakes and fuel tank failures. This isn't unique to this boat- all 25+ year old offshores see these sorts of issues- the more they're used, the harder they were used, the more likely the issue. Like all quality boats of this vintage, they'll take 50 to 75% more power to push to equivalent speed as compared to today's boats. But they ride nice and stable. If you want to drag race on flat water with an '08 35 Fountain with 525's in it, you'll probably need to have 850 blower motors to keep up. But in 6's, you can walk away at will.

A few years back i was really toying with the idea of buying an older I.C.B.M.10 meter , what a nice ride and not to be rude but it is a whole different animal compared to a Formula . Just curious what year and is it a I.C.B.M. or an EXECUTIONER ? I would thoroughly go thru the boat like chris mentioned because everybody i know who has owned a 10 meter has rode them hard . But overall a great ride and solid , old school .

I had a 10 Meter ICBM for a few years back in the early 90's. Mine was rather tame, had 420's and re powered with GM crate 425's, Gil dry pipes. Ran 72 on the Nordscog. (before GPS) I ran it hard in the ocean off Gloucester/Boston/NH. It was rock solid but delivered a rather harsh ride when the water got big.

The ICBM is a timeless classic and theres still some nice ones out there to be had. Last years LOTO shoot out I ran into an older gent who's had one for years, boat house kept, no fade and fresh power. It was sort of for sale...he said if someone would give him 40k he'd let it go.

If you're looking for a project 10M, I know of one real cheap, needs power and drives but everything else is there and although well used, it's functional.
