    Great looking 28!

Whats with all the semi round cutouts on the inner transom? Did you do some re-rigging?

Pepe said that it originally had "bad azz small blocks and #3's" in it. I want to say he said that Tomlinson had something to do with it. I wish I could have gotten ahold of it then....

I was guessing as much. Looked like relief for twin exhaust.

    Bummer you're selling Chris.

You know, as much as I like the way my 28 runs and handles with the single BBC, I'd love to ride in one with twin SBs. I'm guessing that's the dream setup for these boats (aside from big power OBs). Good luck with it!

Very cool boat. Man, I had no idea that you basically re-rigged the whole boat. I thought you just got it sans power and drive. Lots of work!

You end up taking that "vacation" last weekend?

Yeah, it turned out to be a lot more work than what I had planned on (the fiberglass work).

    Yep on the "vacation"...

I just wish we could have stayed longer (and went to the poker run). Maybe next year. Even with all of the hardware that was at the show, the highlight of my weekend was getting to see the factory and meet the legend that is Pepe Nunez

Chris why did you want a 24 over your 28? How fast is your 28 with that engine?

I think he told me it was a matter of convenience (the 24 is significantly smaller than the 28) and the relatively small body of water he boats on... but I've been hit in the head a number of times, so take that with a grain of salt!

There were a couple of reasons. One was I wasn't going to get the use out of it that I thought I would with the seating configuration. I bought it when it was just me and the wife. Now we have a 2.5 year old.

Next, the wife started staying at home with our son so that took some money out of the play account :-)

Also, there is another lake pretty close to here that I want to spend more time on and they are a little more picky about noise.

The boat wasn't fast enough (it never is, right?). I put my top speed on OSO. I think it was just under 66mph. When I went to take it out last year, I found out that I was getting a mist on one of the valve covers. The stbd riser/manifold gasket was leaking. If I'm seeing a mist coming out, I'm probably sucking some water back in. I've got a set of stainless marine dry exhaust that I'm planning on putting on this weekend. We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, the wife is ready to go back to work now and just found out today that she is getting her old job back. So even with our son in day care, we'll have more play money.

The boat that I took the drive, transom assembly and k-planes off had an electrolosys problem. You can see it in the pictures. I was planning to buy an XR for it anyway.

I would probably rather sell it without the motor just so I know that I'm not selling it with a problem... unless the "new" exhaust fixes the problem.

    Chris

PS - Sean is also right...
