Did the wing generate enough of lift to reduce water resistance? What was the slip ratio with/ without the wing?

Probably did some lift to reduce the water resistance but also probably raised the wind resistance to square...

I have many photos of this boat and engines when it was being built. The engines we built for the boat are UNBREAKABLE!! We raced the boat for 3-4 years in Modified class and they were run to the dash for 14 races per season without ever coming out of the boat through out the year! We would do valve lash (check) , oil change, filter, and spark plugs every race. Also compression and leak down test after every event. The races back then composed of real offshore heats, usually 100 plus miles and not this short 40 mile drag race heats they have today. At the end of the season the leak down would be no worse than 5 percent on the worst cylinder. We also designed a bottom end on these engines that NO ONE has ever done or even thought of doing yet. The boat ran a top speed of around 118 MPH and believe me you needed some balls to take it there. The engines we set tame at 1100 HP with only 3-4 lbs boost and now they power one of the fastest 43 Vee Nortech's around at 122 MPH. Not bad for engines that were built in 1990.

I purchased that boat and brought to Ocean City,Md.I was going to refit it for poker runs and then lost interest,so I sold to a gentleman in Delaware.I do not know what happen to it after that, but the boat was cool in a wierd way.

Mt dad looked at that boat when It was at Black Thunder also, we were under thet impression that it was so squirrilly at high speeds that the wing was added for stability. Would have been a neat piece to have up here since there is one 33 Sig. and a kevalar 39 Sig.

We ran the boat with out and with the wing. It ran better with out it. We got more speed and more control.
