Parker Enduro 2023

The roar of powerful boat engines could be heard Saturday, Oct. 28, on the Colorado River in front of the BlueWater Resort & Casino for the running of the Parker Enduro. A total of 30 boats competed for the title of “King of the River.”

The race is patterned after the Parker 9-hour Enduro from the 1960s. One of the founders of this race was the later Marion Beaver. The goal is to see who can go the furthest in the allotted time. This year’s race was four hours. The course ran to La Paz County Park and back.

Coming in first and winning the Marion Beaver Cup was Al Stoker in Boat No. 53. He completed 53 laps, the same number as his boat. This was in spite of a two-lap penalty for a pit lane violation.

Boat No. 192 from Nordic Racing placed second with 52 laps, but they might have won except for a seven-lap speed penalty. As a result, they finished one lap behind Stoker. The drivers for this boat were listed as “Freddy/ Billy/ Gordy.”

Third place went to No. 915 from Breaking Bad Racing. Driven by Bryin Yedor and Cory Ferguson, they went 50 laps and were also hit with a two-lap lap penalty for a pit lane violation.

Boat No. 512 placed fourth with 49 laps and no lap penalties. Owned by WOT Marine, the boat was driven by Kyle Lane and Cole Wonsley.

This year’s race is dedicated to Greg Foster, a former Parker Enduro winner, F1 Champion and boat racer who passed earlier this year.


Al Stoker drove this boat, No. 53, to first place in the 2023 Parker Enduro. He made 53 laps in the four hour of the race despite having a two-lap penalty for a pit lane violation.
