    one design !

    What a Ride!!!
For some $$$ we got to drive or throttle a reindl bat boat.

How many racers ,started out in one of these?

My favorite was the lime green one . in 2003 reindl did a gig in central florida for chrysler .I throttled that bat boat around a small lake .which dina paoella called the mud hole.while about 200 employees drove! .what ridiculous fun .
I met frank ( koolhand ) and ken doyle there.both became offshore racers .

Everyone has a bat boat story .dont you?

That was a heck of a day of racing.

The Batboat in the pic belonged to Dean who I ran it with in Harrison, but Rick and I ran it in St Claire where Freeze took that pic. We ran it first in the Class 5 race. Then next in the Vee Lite class.

Chris ran in Class 6 first, then in the Vee Lite class. We did beat him. But, that was before he put in the bigger power, and at that time Dean's had a 377 Merc Scorpion with a Bravo.

Yes V lite .We tried several of us to get the bat boats legal in v lite in 02 maybe ?
Anyway the complaint from will smith owners was the wings gave lift on the bat boat .
Lotta controversy there. but even that was fun .

I remember talking to Chris after. He said they tried to keep up with us in the Vee Lite race, he was right on our ass, but after 3 or 4 corners where all he saw was water burying the side window they slowed down.

I think the Bravo boat cornered better than the Volvo boat.

Absolutly.the bat boat needed a bravo and small block stroker.

i think scott utah had a white one with that combo .and it would hang all day with the phantom.s
