Dan's Fountain was pretty cool...I'm looking forward to seeing how often it's published. He runs a lot of Poker Runs. He was a pleasure to work with.

Hey Mitch i saw a 43 Black Thunder down in Key West about five or six years ago that looked like your work. It was white/red/black/grey and it had an effect that looked like water droplets. Was that one of yours?

    Welcome Mitch
Great pics! Do you have any step by step pics? That diamond plate on the '47 Fountain looks awesome. How exactly is this done?

    Thanks Marc...(Boatme) You'r awesome!!!!!!!!

GlassDave...the water drop BT was done by Rodney at Raticle Graphics. He did a good job on that one. It's a difficult/touchy effect to pull off.

Jayboat...thanks for the pics of Dan's boat. I'll add them to my collection. That was a great photo shoot.

Cig1988...the diamond plate effect was very very time consuming. On that Fountain there were about 5000 diamonds. Each diamond required 9 paint steps (after a lot of time laying up the computer mask). There were three of us doing the effect. It took 3 days, all day, to accomplish that effect. But it paid off. it looked very realistic. I got a lot of comments on it.

Here are a few closeups of the diamond plate. I also did the underside of the transom and step plate. My painters 'punished me' by making 'me' do that part. They told me if I wanted it done, "I" get to do it. So I get to take credit for that. I learned my lesson!

    But it was worth it.

Thanks Mitch, That diamond plate is very cool and also the large carbon fiber effect is awesome to.

Do you know what is involved in the water droplet effect on the BT? How is that done? Mostly i'm just curious ever since i saw that one.

The water droplet effect is basically done by using a spray bottle of water with one or two drops of soap mixed in it. Then sprayed over a 'slightly' dusty surface and allowed to sit overnight undisturbed. The next morning, the drops will have dried and left a stain. You put a sandwich coat of a clear sealer over it to retain it, before you touch it and ruin it. Then clear it.

Now I'll have to kill you!
