911 Speedster. I really need to buy one soon.

They are cool and I saw one yesterday. The top is loose fitting at best. I looked at one until I noticed the 1/4 inch gap around the windows where they met the top. The other thing is the bubble, it covers the area where the rear seats are in a standard 911. In FL the gap issue would mean the car would be unusable any day where rain was a possiblilty. I started looking at 87-89 911 Cabs but after not having one for 10 years, then going back to drive one after all those years the fantasy was better than the reality. I bought a new M3 Convertible and never looked back. In the late 80's 214 HP was a lot but in 2002 it was an economy car standard.

I still turn my head to look at them but the fantasy of buying another one goes away after driving newer/faster cars.

If I owned one, it wouldn't ever see the rain anyway, nor would the top ever be up. I'd love to say different, but I know how it would end up.

I can appreicate that newer cars are MUCH better & faster, but I've had a thing for 911's forever, and I still appreciate older ones. When I was in high school, my boss had an '84 Targa that I used all the time, so the old 3.2 Carreras just bring back good memories - kind of like 60's muscle cars do for guys older than me.

Hell, I used to have a '95 993 Cab and even that was only 270 hp. You can get that in a minivan these days.

In all seriousness, my next Porsche is most likely to be a 996 coupe. From what I'm seeing online, the prices of them are in the toilet right now. I've always said I'd never buy one newer than a 993, but for low $20s, I'll take a 996 and use it as a daily driver.

I understand 100%......"whatever cars you liked in high school are the cars you will like for ever" and I graduated in 89 so I agree with the 3.2 cars. I just saw a 07 911 5K miles/6 spd asking 50K so all of the exotic stuff is getting cheap. I never really liked anything after the 94 Turbo 3.6 until the 997 came out in 05 or 06. The round headlights refreshed the look away from the boxster look of previous cars. For current stuff, a C2S would be perfect all around car.

Hope not. Too overstated, like some imports. I'd rather they stay the same.

Good looking styling for a reasonable price that will stomp most exotics costing 5 to 10 times more.

a car only Batman could love. It's only my personal opinion, so Im not trying to start a war, but GM would be doing soooo much better if the the first people they laid off 15 years ago were the entire design team.

Didn't they already build it? Thought it was called the Muira and cost around $10,000 when new back in 1970...
