The thinking process has begun, floor is out dash is being removed, measurements are being taken...

I will take about a year all in.

This is the cockpit idea I think Im going with, the dash wont be curved like that, but will cut down a fiberglass console and stick it under the gunwale. Also using the PPI style seats this time.

I lack ambition to clean. Not a chance I have the will to reconfigure.

Was there a forcing issue? you said the floor was out.

    The things you discover....

Taking the old dash and hynautic steering out..

    1. though the last reg sticker expired 10 years ago and the boat has been sitting for who knows how long, the hynautic steering still had pressure.

    2. the steering was plumbed with copper tubing.....

Negative on the pics. With his creative descriptions I prefer to let my imagination go to work.

No pix for a reason. I don't know what a Klem is. All I imagine is a dinosaur. I'm feeling like a dino. The props I need to find for my boat have faded from existance. Copper steering tubing is from the stone ages. Last saw that in the 80's on an older boat.

its actually Klym, Jim Klym. He went thru more boat companies than you can count, mostly direct splashes. the fiberglass work want too bad, but he couldnt rig a boat worth a damn, threw junk yard motors freshly spray painted into brand new boats, etc... etc... etc.... he finally killed himself when the cops knocked on his door.

the Avanti I plan on running this summer, then I will take the motor, steering, hp gimble etc off of it and put it in the the mayhem. I still have the original nonmag 454 and standard transom assembly , regular steering etc laying around so I will put the avanti back together with the slow stuff.

Sounds like a good plan. I am glad you have an operational boat after all the work you have done.
