We were told it was already sold as of Sunday Morning...And that's the reason He took it easy during the Race that Day.

11-30-2019 09:21 PMI had not heard any of that while at the races, and I talked with Nick a couple times.
However, for Nick to say that while still there would surprise me a bit. I'll see if I can find anything out.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

11-30-2019 09:45 PMI am still hoping they add weight to the class for next season to match the increased engine weights. They changed the rules and they favor the Doug Wright potato chip new boats, but those are really not safe in my opinion. They disintegrate on impact flips or rolls, somebody is going to be seriously hurt or possibly worse. Even Supercats don't break apart like that when crashed at speeds well over the outboard speeds.
They changed to the 300HP Merc from the old offshore 280HP, but did not increase the weight to match the difference in weight between the two engines, roughly another 300 lbs. And I think they changed the weight to different lengths versus the old different tunnel widths. So, build a potato chip and all is good till something goes wrong.Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

12-01-2019 05:34 PMIm not a Gary B. fan for sure . but I did agree with him back a few years ago to keep the HP down to 280 or under for those hulls being built .
I hope no accidents force change.
Same with SVL,s Anything under 600 hp is competitive, exciting , and cost effective.
Those 496,s ran forever.They.ll run with big HP
Heck the old IMCO phantom speedster had a paul Phaff ? 850 hp motor in 2001
they can take it but is it safe? cost effective attrition?

12-03-2019 10:34 AMDoug Wright has one of the safest boats in the field....when CR Racing rolled at LOTO in 18' it sustained minimal damage. Also two boats blew over at top speed in KW this year....all 4 racers walked away .

I remember seeing one after it flipped in practice, looking in the split open front, one could see daylight out of the split open back........
