In the third race of the day the CMS boat turned right in front of CT Marine during the race to go into the pits. The CT Marine boat went right over the top of CMS and flipped.

    Everyone appears to be okay.

No serious injuries in Friday powerboat crash
    Key West Citizen

There were no reported serious injuries Friday when a powerboat struck another powerboat, went airborne, overturned and landed upside down in the water in Key West Harbor.

The third-place boat in the 1:30 race, CMS, was having engine troubles about 2 p.m. and was making its way back to Truman Harbor when the fourth-place boat, CT Marine, ran over its stern and landed upside down, according to Super Boats International officials.

The two men inside the CT Marine were able to get out of the boat using the emergency hatch and were not seriously injured, according to SBI officials at the race. The two men in the CMS boat were not injured.

The crash Friday marks the first serious incident of the Key West World Championship powerboat races. On Thursday, a 50-foot boat taking part in the Florida Powerboat Club poker run from Miami to Key West, which is a separate event and not organized by race officials, overturned off Marathon. Joe Sgro, 63, of New York, was killed in that crash.

Extremely lucky no one was hurt bad or killed. You can see where the rudder was headed before it hit the sea strainer and broke.

The props do appear to be matched quite well with pitch and diameter though.......
