Most boats from Doug Wright are unique, but this new "throwback" 48-foot V-bottom that was just delivered to Visual Imagination in Missouri for paint takes the cake.

03-29-2017 11:33 PMWhen I first saw this boat, and showed others the pics, they all said "That's a Dragon" first thing. I explained it's a new design from Doug, new mold-first one out, no other has ever been built.
They still think it's a Dragon.....Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!

03-31-2017 05:40 PMThey made molds. This project has been going on for almost 2 years to design and build the tooling first, then build the boat.

04-03-2017 12:14 AMAnd it should run much better than 100. The 478 Skater Vee with 1100's weighs 13,800 dry and it's been to 123 so far.

04-07-2017 08:41 PMIt looks like they are both directly above the venting horns for the bottom steps. I'm guessing there was too much heat generated by the thicker laminates there and it caused a small warp? I'm sure it will be filled properly in the surface prep stage for painting.......
