    Anybody out there using the Holley HP EFI on a Mercruiser 496HO based engine?

    I have the original Cutler system, the system Holley purchased and renamed, on a modified 502. What are you looking for?

    A Holley HP EFI base tune appropriate for a 2006 425hp Mercruiser 496 HO base engine (GM Gen7 Vortec 8.1L) with upgrades to produce 520ci 650hp naturally aspirated with wet exhaust. I have the Holley 550-602 that will utilize the Mercruiser sensors so appropriate cals for those. The cast iron Gen7 Vortec heads have fast burn combustion chambers vs the 502 so spark table will need to be appropriately less. Nothing for this base engine in the Holley library.

    When I read about the 550-602, it appears it is built for the LS1 crank sensor? Is that what the 496 Merc uses?

    If you can't find out for sure, let us know and I'll call a couple engine builder/tuners I know to see if they know.

    No I had not asked on the Holley Forums. I will try that.

    Yes the my 496 engine has the 24 tooth reluctor.
