HORBA Thunderbolt Rally in Sarsotoa March 12th

HORBA is having our first THUNDERBOAT RALLY in Sarasota Florida on Saturday March 12, 2016.

This will be the first of these events so things will be a bit loose.

First...NO ENTRY FEE.

Registration begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 12th at the 10th street ramp in Sarasota.

The run will depart from the 10th street ramp at NOON on Saturday March 12th.

We will proceed north to the Manatee River and then up the river to the Blu Mangrove Grill and Restaurant in Palmetto for lunch.

After lunch, we will return back to the 10th Avenue boat ramp.

Any boat built before the year 2000 can run with us.

We will have some HORBA Board Members in attendance for lunch, so you can ask them some questions on Old School racing.

The idea of the run is to give the owners of old school boats a chance to use their boats with other owners of the same period boats.

We know that we have the 30 foot Velocity STILL CRAZY and the 45 foot Cougar POPEYES. Ryan Beckley and Chris LaMorte are helping with this and they feel we might have about 20 boats.

Do you have any good photos of Wolverine? We are changing the HORBA site to show boats that have been restored and we are adding about 9 more and I am looking for a good shot of Wolverine.

In case anyone wants to kow what old school racing was really about, we are going to have Sammy James and hopefully Bobby Saccenti at the lunch stop.

Anyone want to know how it really felt landing in that Bertram that day Sammy won the race?
