The three on the boat were not injured.

Two men and a woman were rescued Wednesday morning after their boat capsized in the area of Alligator Light, about four miles off Islamorada on the oceanside.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it received a call about 9:30 a.m. from someone who reported seeing a red flare in the area. Coast Guard Station Islamorada sent a boat crew out and rescued the three from the 18-foot recreational vessel. No one was injured.

The Coast Guard said a commercial salvage company was on the scene to save the boat.

Adam Futterman, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Key West, says the weather service's closest monitoring station to Alligator Light is at Molasses Reef, about 18 miles to the northeast.

At Molasses at 9 a.m., winds were from the southeast at 22 knots, gusting to 25. A small-craft advisory was in effect at 4:30 a.m. and seas were 2 to 4 feet, with rough nearshore waters.

But it was small craft warnings. They were in an 18 footer, not a small craft!!!!
Getting bad advice is unfortunate, taking bad advice is a Serious matter!!
