That was the first race I've ever seen where they stopped the race with laps to go because the boats had established their finish order and it would not change.

Quite strange. Poor turnout so perhaps shortened just to reduce costs.

Not sure how I'd feel about it if I was the 2nd or 3rd place guy.....unless of course I wouldn't have normally been in that position with a larger turnout, then I'd be all for it!

Turnout is about as good as it gets now days. Early above was missing Class 7 and a couple that must have been DNS's. It certainly seems like Classes 5, 6, 7 are the only growing classes anymore in OPA. Hopefully they will be teams that move up as they gain experience. They are certainly reasonably cost classes for offshore racing.
