Both Chuck and Grant were okay. Grant said they just launched and came down on one side, he hit the power hoping it would grab, but it didn't. The boat is a mess, fiberglass everywhere. They have their work really cu out for them to make Marathon in 6 weeks!!!
The final tumble off of the SBI video.

I was surprised they had time to climb out of the cockpit before there was a rescue person on the boat.

I don't think you were that surprised.

    Actually I was.

    Roll, 47:00
The first boat got there quickly, 47:37, but it was not a rescue boat with a driver.
The second boat, had a diver I was told, but did not deploy.
The helicopter got there next, 48:25.

But, if you look at the pic of Chuck and Grant exiting, I can understand why they would not deploy. From the angle of the shore recording, they would not have been visible. But to those on the rescue boats, they would have been.

Chuck said they had their mouthpieces in their hands but did not use them.

From looking at the photos it appears the canopy cockpit hatch and both engine hatches blew off before the hull landed on its lid. Questionable torsional rigidity...

The boat took a triple barrel roll before landing on its lid. Video only caught the last one, the cameramen were following Geico at the time the accident initiated.
