The National Marine Manufacturers Association announced today that it will no longer be producing the Chicago In-Water Boat Show, citing a lack of demand in the marketplace.

This year’s show was scheduled for June 11-14. The show’s website has been replaced by an announcement of the cancellation.

“There was not enough market demand or available inventory to warrant an acceptable selling environment for exhibitors and a quality event for attendees,” NMMA said in a statement.

Instead, NMMA will focus its efforts on the recently merged Progressive Insurance Chicago Boat, RV & Strictly Sail Show, a combination of the former Strictly Sail Chicago and the Chicago Boat, Sports & RV Show. The next show is scheduled for January 14-18, 2016, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“The NMMA is hopeful this shift in focus to Chicago’s largest boat show will continue to help grow recreational boating in the Midwest,” the association said.
