So, according to the Ocean Express website, "Active" was really the first Ocean Express? "Express" was the second?

Sammy drove and Jack Stuteville was his throttleman. Preston Henn drove his Bertrams and Errol Lanier was his throttleman. Sammy came from the era where he could do both, so when he left Bertram and went to work for Gentry, he became Tom's throttleman.

OO LA LA SASSON, according to Sea Race, was a 30' Shadow Cat driven by Joey Ratner. Joey won his first Modified race in 1983 at the Chrysler Laser 200 off of New York City in September. (A race where a dead body was found floating on the course). He averaged 70 MPH at that race.

He also won the California Warmington Grand Prix in October of that year and led his class from start to finish.

(We have to believe he won something in 1982 to become World Champion) looking.

    Research so far, (hopefully accurate):

"Surgin" was supposedly the last Cougar built out of wood.
It was originally Eddie Trotta's Rampage, was bought by Howard Arneson, (with Tony Garcia), in 1983.
It won the the World Championships in Key West 1983 as Arneson Special.
The surgeon Larry Spergel bought it in 1984 , changed the cockpit and the name, and won the APBA Open 1 World Title.

Power Play was a new 32' Cougar Cat in 1982 with 600 HP Rahilly-Grady engines. In 1982 it won both the Sport Class and the U.S. Title. It's crew included Peter Huebner, Dominick Santarelli, and Jimmy Rossi. Searace

"In the June 8, 1985 Popeyes New Orleans Grand Prix, Modified class driver Gerry Billington averaged an incredulous 96.7 mph in the 30' Shadow Cat Love It Again to establish a new unofficial world competition mark for the class. The former record was 84.3 mph. The hull was reportedly the last of the famed Shadow catamarans off the lines.

Love It Again was powered by twin 550 hp Mercruiser engines and throttled by owner Davey Gillmore with Orlando Lorenzo as navigator.

The course was 11 laps, 33 turns, and 156 miles long."
