Boat Show succeeds in new Miami home

This year’s ProgressiveŽ Insurance Miami International Boat Show, held for the first time ever at the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin on Virginia Key, was a major success for Florida’s recreational boating industry and the Miami-Dade community.

We offer our sincere thanks to city of Miami and Miami-Dade County leaders for their support. It is because of their vision and leadership that we were able to quickly produce a world-class event that attracted more than 100,000 visitors from around the globe.

To that end, we must also thank the countless city and county employees who worked around the clock to ensure the boat show’s success.

With the backing of the city and the county, the boat show continued its decades-long record of supporting the hundreds of Miami-Dade businesses and thousands of Miami-Dade workers that depend heavily on the show for their success and livelihoods.

We also worked together to create a comprehensive traffic plan that kept traffic moving throughout the show — a plan so successful that it is providing a model for future Miami events.

We accomplished all of this while generating an estimated $600 million of economic activity for the community, putting Greater Miami in the international spotlight and maintaining a proud 75-year Miami tradition.

We are grateful to the community and to city and county leaders for believing in us and having faith that we would produce an event that was both considerate of our neighbors and the environment.

The ProgressiveŽ Insurance Miami International Boat Show is honored to now call the city of Miami home.

We look forward to again making our neighbors, community members, and leaders proud as we prepare for the 2017 Boat Show at Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin.
