I am going to repaint the sides on my boat , (white) I want to make it as painless as possible , basic sand ,clean and paint, then have small graphics applied. there is nothing in the way but the fuel vents on each side. so what sandpaper/ cleaning solution then awlgrip paint ( is it roller/ brush or brush /roller ?)

pretty basic right there. If its white paint over white gel i would just wipe the entire area down with PPG's DX440 wax and grease remover than sand thoroughly with 320 on a DA. Wash down real well with a grey Scothcbrite and power washer. Let dry over night than dust on a coat of an adhesion promoter like Bulldog and go right to paint. If you have any primer spots or colored areas i would seal with PPG's DP-48LF epoxy sealer.

And might i add if you are going to be tipping Awlgrip it is roller / brush .
