Well.. it’s time to hit the road and find a new home.
Best boating and living area in Florida?
Want ocean access, nice neighborhood, young to middle age white collar professionals, lots of party locations, entertainment, good restaurants. No small town and rednecks. Must have great offshore boating and tech support. Not on the East coast. Cape Coral, Ft. Myers, Sarasota, comes to mind. May be Destin area?. Should be an "upcoming" area is there is such a thing now. Any thought? Looking for a home or vacant property.
    Thx

One of my friends moved to the Fort Myers area. between canals and manatee zones, his waterfront home was 45minutes plus from where he could get up on plane.

The area up by Stuart and Pt. St. Lucie is very nice.

    The whole moving thing...
Geez, wife mentioned that we'd like to get out of Kentucky, and now things are popping up all over the place.
I know we're moving soon, just don't know where.
Already passed on the Clearwater thing.
    Heading to Phoenix on Thursday.
But might also check something out way South from here.
I just need to figure out where I prefer to be jobless...

    Peter, why wanting to move??

Bonita Springs is pretty tough to beat for boating .Not much nitelife but you are only a half hour from downtown Naples or Fort Myers beach

One thing is for sure- there is no shortage of houses to choose from in the whole southwest part of the state. I would consider Bonita and Cape Coral, too... it's all good down here for boating. Plus, you have the added benefit of Ft Myers Offshore.

    Good luck with the search.

Cape Coral looks pretty good. I saw a bank repo. 1 year old never lived in. 3 BD 2 bath 2 car garage for 100K, but no ocean access. How is that for $ Jay?

I have a good friend who sells in the Pt St Lucie, Hutchinson Island area. He likes it there and keeps trying to get me to move. Property values have dropped to around 2000 levels. All of the gains for the last 8 years are gone. Let me know, and I'll send you a link. I've trusted this guy with my life before.

Peter, I'm not the guy for any specifics, although I would guess there are plenty like that one down here. All I know is just incidental hearsay and what I've read in the local media.

The guy you should talk with is Hans... rockstrmkr. He owns a real estate firm on Marco and is very knowledgeable about the market down here.

I would think twice about the Cape.Hate to bust on any one that lives there but i ilved in a house on the water and that was not enough to keep me there.I could not wait to get back to Bonita Springs.

Too long of a hike down the river to go to the Gulf and the Cape is its own little Dimension.
