    Mid 40's

They were lifted up to the top deck of a large yacht as tenders. yacht was almost 200 feet. Their use was simply to convey guests from yacht to shore and return, no high speed requirements.

With the weight of the diesel, did they still ride level and crush waves?

What waves? They were always in a harbor anchored when these boats, were lowered and put to use from yacht to drop off point at a a marina some where.

Kind of like having a Porsche with a Ford focus engine and only used in parking lots.

Nice analogy. Did you test drive them before delivering them? If so, your comments at the time must have been interesting.......

No, and I am in favor of the concept especially in boats, going to Europe, but the power from diesels back then was so poor they would have been better off with a single 200 Hp outboard on the transom and open up the cockpit for more room.

Everyone is free to decide what their boat should look like, but when these were built for such a narrow and specific purpose, there was a better way to do it. Plus with an outboard the resale would not be facing the problem they have now with two outdated diesels with technology from when the 70's?

Might be a good option, get them for a decent offer and repower with the big outboards available today.

Look at the key words in the ad. Drydock for fifteen years...how about sitting on the top deck of the yacht during rainstorms etc....covered, maybe, maybe not. Nothing to find here without a moisture meter.

The yacht has been sitting in one spot tied up in Key West for at least that amount of time, so how much rain does KW get? How were the boats drained while sitting in dry dock?

Much better deals out there.....like the original 24 that wrote about in the other thread.
