03-25-2014 09:34 AMI'm gonna need some explanation on this one. I'm looking at the step design, and it appears to match the new 42 Chief? Is that possible or is my eyesight bad?

Paul, you must be getting old! Haha! You have answered this question yourself the thread when you talked to Bobby at the Miami Boat Show. Here is your quote:
"Talking with Bobby at the show, the test boat for the new 42 Chief was not a 41. It was a 36 mold they worked with the hull designer from the Netherlands on and tweaked before building the new 42 mold."
Yes, this is the Chief bottom. Bobby and Naval architects developed this bottom design and used it on the 36/37 Apache Performance Boats first. There were a handful of these twin step Apaches built. When designing the Chief, they implemented this bottom design into the 42. I believe that the step profile was lengthened proportionately to fit the bottom of the Chief, but yes, it is the same design.Last edited by jetcruzr; 03-26-2014 at 08:37 AM.
