    Florida leads the nation with 922,491 registered boating vessels, but which county leads the state in reportable boating accidents?

    Boating accidents must meet at least one of these six criteria to be classified as "reportable"; a person dies, a person disappears under circumstances that indicate possible death or injury, a person receives an injury requiring medical treatment beyond immediate first aid, there is at least $2,000 aggregate property damage to the vessel(s) or other property, or there is a total loss of a vessel.

    1. Monroe County - 100 accidents and five fatalities out of 26,461 registered vessels.
    2. Miami-Dade County - 81 accidents and three fatalities out of 60,572 registered vessels.
    3. Pinellas County - 49 accidents and three fatalities out of 47,680 registered vessels.
    4. Palm Beach County - 49 accidents and zero fatalities out of 38,363 registered vessels.
    5. Okaloosa County - 31 accidents and two fatalities out of 17,905 registered vessels.
    6. Broward County - 30 accidents and one fatality out of 42,131 registered vessels.
    7. Brevard County - 29 accidents and one fatality out of 33,943 registered vessels.
    8. Lee County - 28 accidents and one fatality out of 43,194 registered vessels.
    9. Collier County - 24 accidents and one fatality out of 21,671 registered vessels.
    10. Hillsborough County - 16 accidents and two fatalities out of 40,995 registered vessels.
    11. Bay County - 15 accidents and zero fatalities out of 18,673 registered vessels.
    12. Sarasota County - 15 accidents and zero fatalities out of 21,437 registered vessels.
    13. Escambia County - 14 accidents and three fatalities out of 16,137 registered vessels.
    14. Duval County - 13 accidents and zero fatalities out of 28,519 registered vessels.
    15. St. Johns County - 13 accidents and one fatality out of 13,158 registered vessels.
    16. Indian River County - 12 accidents and zero fatalities out of 10,484 registered vessels.
    17. Orange County - 11 accidents and one fatality out of 28,027 registered vessels.
    18. Charlotte County - 11 accidents and zero fatalities out of 20,419 registered vessels.
    19. Pasco County - 11 accidents and zero fatalities out of 22,643 registered vessels.
    20. Putnam County - 10 accidents and four fatalities out of 7,970 registered vessels.
