Step one: mocking up the seats at glassdave's so I cab start fabbing the bases. The vinyl color is pretty much a dead match for the gel. In this pik they are about 2 inches higher than they will end up. Looks like I will have plenty of room for the console and they look ok proportionally. next step is to fab some temp. plywood bases and get them set in for recline and final fit before I fab the alum. bases.

The dash 'pod' that has the gauges and steering is coming out, so the actual dash and wheel will be forward about a foot. Im using Jbonz boat as a guide but mine will be different

That is gonna look really sweet. Are you running the same type center console for throttles and trim etc?

Sure am. I have access to the mold that one was made in, just have to check the measurements once the seat heights are completely dialed in next week.

Since you may race the boat, watch how you mount the throttle and trim tab buttons for a possible team effort. Dave can assist with that, he's smashed a couple knuckles!

    Update...

Got templates made for the new cockpit sideboards, seat riser mockups made and have final dimensions, carpet is ripped out, old dash removed, have a bunch of new stuff, heads up tab and drive indicators, azimuth electronic compass, lowrance GPS/Plotter, 4 led courtesy lights , 4 led cupholders, 11 new labled/lit contura II switches, bluesea 12 circuit fuseblock with negative bus, 4 mtx 7.7 coax's, 2 mtx 10" subs, gill battery mount for second battery, new merc trim wire harness, new merc 9 pin engine to dash harness, new trim limit puck.

Looks like a new floor is on the project list too. Need to finish up the console and have the vinyl work done. Making new engine hatch too.

Of course the last guy to redo the interior in this boat was kind enough to mount the sold bolster stands very securely, using big screws that went thru the floor in several places directly into the gas tank....

If you want your boat to fast....putting screws through the fuel tank is the surest way.....it will briefly go fast in all directions
