Meet the drivers and their awesome machines, before the ocean comes alive as they practice for Sunday's Offshore Superboat Championships. There will also be $2.00 face painting, roving entertainment and a sausage sizzle for you to enjoy.

Racing

Race One: 11.00am
Race Two: 1.00pm
Be prepared to be amazed as the ocean comes alive with the resounding roar of the Offshore Superboat Championships at Redcliffe. You will witness the jaw-dropping spectacle that is guaranteed to satisfy the thousands of excited onlookers. Over 20 boats will compete in the competition, reaching speeds of up to 250km per hour. Tune into radio station 88.3FM for race commentary.

Great weekend of Racing at Redcliffe

What a great day of racing on Morton bay at Redcliffe for round 5 of the 2013 Offshore Superboat Championships, With Saturdays Pole Position Shootout held in some tough seas, Sunday was perfect conditions for fast racing.

Race 1 in the 1000hp class Team Navy showed they were back and took the lead with a battle with the Pro Floors team from New Zealand, Maritimo, Global Racing and Team 3, in the end Team Navy took the chequered flag with (Pro Floors 2nd but only racing for The Trans Tasman Challenge) so in the Offshore Superboat Championship race Maritimo 2nd and Global Racing 3rd, only 32 seconds between the 5 boats at the end.

Australian Vehicle Wholesale had problems on Sunday morning and could not start the race.



600hp class was as close as the big boats between Kwozzy, Spirit of Mackay, Saracen and SUV Dodge Ram.

In the end Saracen took out 1st place, Kwozzy 2nd and Spirit of Mackay 3rd.



400hp class, 88 Racing had to pull out after the shootout on Saturday and this left The Loaner to run solo.



Race 2, 1000hp, Pro Floors (Wayne Valder and Richard Shores) took the lead and stayed there, The Trans Tasman Challenge trophy going back to New Zealand.

The Battle for the Australian title was again tight with less than a minute between 1st and 4th, Team 3 (Steve Jellick and Travis Thompson) took 1st, Team Navy (Brendan and Chris Frier) 2nd, Maritimo (Darren Nicholson and Peter Magrath) 3rd.



600hp Spirit of Mackay showed a clean set of heels and got away from the field, the battle between Kwozzy and Saracen was on with the 2 boats running in and out of each other’s wash, SUV Dodge Ram had a did not start with an electrical problem, Spirit of Mackay (Scott Gehrman and Graham Fraser) taking 1st, Kwozzy (Jim Harris and Paul Fowlds) 2nd and Saracen (Antony DeFina and Brett Luhrmann) 3rd.



400hp, The Loaner (Karl Wall and Brenton Price) 1st.
