Busy day. I sold the 944 for $4,000 cash and a 1994 VW Jetta, gave it $1,000 trade in value. Spent most of the day with the guy. Jetta is the 4 cylinder, not the diesel or VR6. But think I can sell it fast for $1,400.

I don't consider real estate as an investment. Return is not so great. It is a good place to park cash and gives you a place to live. Our real estate has been booming the last few years. But I bought at the top of the market and the market hasn't changed much in the last 5 years since buying. I have not done really well on real estate in returns, but have always got my money back. Parents have done well on one house. Bought in 82 for $480K and sold in 91 for $750K. If they would have kept it today its worth $3million easy.

Long term real estate has been good. But I don't see it growing like that in the future. House was also waterfront. A regular family home in that area was $80K in 82 and now around $850K. Top of the market, so see a pull back in real estate here.

    OK, this is getting old...
Jody's friend (and another gal) got into town Sat. evening.
Jody had to pick them up at the airport and have dinner with them.
I'm on my own for dinner.
Yesterday, they did the Sedona trip, once again she had to take them to dinner. (No car, and no restaurants near their hotel)
Today, it's shopping up in Cave Creek, then dinner again. I'm on my own.

This Julie the cruise director act is getting old.

Hi Ho's!!!! That was the pain in the ass of living in Arizona. Having people visit and having to do all this tourist crap with them got old. Did Sedona a few times, Rawhide 1880's town thingy, Nogales Mexico, etc. Got old fast.

    Huh.

One dinner at Philly's, one car ride to Apache Lake, and get the hell out.
    I see where I rate.

But, you got to hang at the doublewide, a bottle of Maker's, and all the beer you could drink.

It's better that they don't come out here. Jody's best friend has always hated me. We've reached a point where we tolerate each other.

On the other hand, you my friend, have an open room now that my daughter moved out.

Within 1 mile I have Goldfield mine, and about 3 miles from Superstition museum.
    You would think that's enough...

I keep getting farther and farther in....got the fuel injection /throttle body out of the way , and all of the valve cover bolts off....but now I need to take the distributor cap off...I ran out of energy..(plus I have an entire roofing crew chattering in Spanish non stop above me. )

    Sweet.
The bottle of Maker's Mark was a nice touch.
But in all fairness, I had to bring a 30 pack.

And I gave you a half a box of cereal.

At least here we don't have many things touristy. Took American friends to the botanical gardens and high tea at the Empress Hotel. That was kind of fun.
