We replaced a pedestrian bridge over a pond at work and I specified IPE for the deck. We had no fake finishes anywhere, and I wanted the wear of trex but a real wood. It was probably overkill, but it's sweet. Meh.... $100,000 pedestrian bridge... what the heck.

    I will not comment, but:

    https://www.terramai.com/blog/ipe-en...urcing-issues/

We are going with trex (or similar) at this point for our new dock. We were going to use plain treated pine, but fake wood casts the same with the jack-up in prices down here on real treated wood. I paid $9.51 for a 10' grade 2 2x4 the other day.

The price of the dock has doubled in just over a year while waiting for permits.....

Anyway, taking a chance on this $116 Chipping Hammer from Home Depot...I wanted the Milwaukee..but at $900 , it'll have to wait.

Going to chip out some Fence Post Concrete this Morning ... If I get a Year out of it I'll be Happy.

    Let's do the math.
Classic Harbor Freight Chinesium power tool survival odds: "Chipping hammer*"
Making it through the project: 70%.
Making it through a year: 40%.

*Percussion tool weighting required, deduct 20%:
Making it through the project: 50%.
Making it through the year: 20%.

    Good luck!!

That's a generous description. I would have said "non rotary hammer drill."
