One of the largest salt mines in the world is under the epicenter. The lake is like 100 feet deep, 500 feet ABOVE sea level. The mines are down around 1800-2000 feet below sea level. The largest is under Lake Huron.
I think the mine in the video is the Morton mine, IIRC. Cargill also has one. There are a few in Ontario and Quebec, also.

If they really did get three earthquake readings from there, I would not want to be down in that mine when the ground was vibrating. I did hear the word blast zone in the first video. Maybe that is what the scientists were feeling?
