For the first time in 130 years, more young Americans live with their parents

For the first time in more than 130 years, American adults aged 18 to 34 were more likely to be living in their parents’ home than living with a spouse or partner in their own household, according to a new report released Tuesday by the Pew Research Center, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank in Washington, D.C.

By 2014, 31.6% of young adults were living with a spouse or partner in their own household, marginally below the share living in the home of their parents (32.1%).

WASHINGTON (AP) — Fresh problems for "Obamacare": The largest health insurer in Texas wants to raise its rates on individual policies by an average of nearly 60 percent, a new sign that President Barack Obama's overhaul hasn't solved the problem of price spikes.

Texas isn't alone. Citing financial losses under the health care law, many insurers around the country are requesting bigger premium increases for 2017.

Earlier this week, North Carolina's largest insurer said it will seek an average increase of 18.8 percent.

A recent analysis of nine states by the consulting firm Avalere Health found that average premium increases for the most popular kind of plan ranged from 5 percent in Washington state to 44 percent in Vermont.

A LOT of government subsidy $$$$$s sure have been handed out to the insurance companies.
Not nearly enough for the fantasy BS to work though.
Wonder if any insurers took the handouts, bailed, and end up ahead from the failure????

The BLS reported only 38,000 jobs created, leading shocked pundits to speculate jokingly about a missing digit. If the number 38,000 withstands the next two monthly revisions, it will be the worst jobs number since the loss of 54,000 jobs in September 2010.

The May unemployment rate fell from 5.0% to 4.7%, the lowest mark since November 2007. How can that be when so few jobs were created? That's because 458,000 Americans simply left the workforce. The labor participation rate fell to 62.6%, continuing a two-month decline and dimming hopes that the workforce percentage would move beyond 63% for the first time in over two years. For reference, the labor participation rate in November 2007 was 66%.

Jobs were also revised downward for the previous two months by a total of 59,000. With the collective changes, the average job growth over the past three months is now at 116,000 per month.

The U-6 unemployment rate, which includes those "working part-time for economic reasons" and those "marginally attached" to the workforce who want to work but are no longer actively seeking work, is at 9.7%. It has hovered between 9.7% and 9.9% for seven months and would need to drop by 1.3 percentage points to meet the November 2007 value.
