They want Obamacare to fail. The solution will be universal healthcare like Canada's.

10-04-2013 07:42 AMIn an exclusive interview with CNBC, the president warned Wall Street that this shutdown could be different. Previous halts in nonessential government activities have caused little market reaction, with major averages actually rising most of the time in the month after the shutdowns are settled.
Obama's remarks indicated to some observers that he is trying to push investors out of the relative complacency they have shown so far. Futures were broadly lower Thursday, indicating markets may be taking heed.
"They feel that a severe market selloff would be helpful to break the logjam," said Greg Valliere, chief political strategist at Potomac Research Group in Washington. "It would be helpful in making the Republicans sue for peace. Obama and [Senate minority leader] Harry Reid believe that."

Haven't verified this, but if it is true it's funny as hell
Vladmir Putin on Chairman Owe.
Putin said off the record:
"Negotiating with Obama is like playing chess with a pigeon. The pigeon knocks over all the pieces, s h i t s on the board and then struts around like it won the game."Parabellum FJ²B

10-08-2013 11:42 PMIt's amazing what they've done. There are some parks, including the offshore parls in the northern keys, where they have more paid officers stopping people from using them than they had keeping them open.

I had to call Social Security yesterday to request a verification letter.
The gal said I needed to call my local office, she couldn't send out docs.
I asked a few questions about the account - which she answered, and then gave me the number for my local office.
I called my local, and the guy tells me he can't do anything because of the Govt shutdown.
I told him I already have the info, just need a doc. He tells me the gal that gave me the info never should have told me anything..."Keep the bottle on the bar Ira, I won't be long".
