Typically, the most prominent color would stay the same. Doesn't have to though.

Your most prominent color on the pad is the silver carbon, but on the outside of the boat it's purple. I'd make it one of those two, either would work. I think you should redo the side of the boat's red stripe in silver carbon though....

Look at Ryan's. It has a lot of red and looks great.

What's your favorite color of the two?

As for staggered. Here's my answer from Steve David......

Staggered gives a better center of gravity and more advantageous thrust line. Also reduces chine walk.

How fast are you thinking of going someday?

I want to be able to run 100 any day of the week. The new engine build will most likely get me right around 1100HP, but only time will tell. I knew running a staggered config allows for a lower CG and better thrustcapabilities never heard of reduce in chine walk. What is the theory on that?

With enough patience, energy, money and dreams this build will turn out amazing! You are starting with as good of base as any, and even better that its unique. A boat that runs 100mph any day, with a best of 110mph+/-, and crushes the waves that our great lakes produce! Anyone would be proud to own your 43GT.

Jason, what kind of a sick person would push you in the staggered direction and go so far as to help you do this project?...... ;-) Looking forward to seeing your engine compartment drawing!

I think that person has the same name as I.

My wife tells me I am addicted to boat parts and I should go to some kind of meeting. I am thinking I may just take up drug abuse it will probably be cheaper.

It will be a bravo based drive most likely an X-power or an IMCO -4, but all in due time.

Well, these ARE Cigar boats, so you should probably run drugs at the very least.

Making some progress on the interior. I went over to McLeod Designs yesterday to choose the colors. We are going with silver carbon fiber, white, purple and yellow. Whats the thoughts on having a logo embroidered on the rear of the head rests?

This was the double bolster. As you can see its rotted. McLeod will be rebuilding almost everything.

I am still on the fence with the whole staggered thing, but I have some questions. While looking at pics of Spiker's setup compared to Coolerman's setup I noticed something. Spiker has the port engine forward and Coolerman has the starboard engine forward. Does this have any effect or was this just the way it came to be?

Also, the port motor traditionally goes in front like on spikers rig. Dan MacNamara of Archer Marine in Costa Mesa, CA, whom did the original rigging on our boat likes to do them backwards. I don't think there really is an advantage to doing it one way or the other.

I didn't think there was really an impact on performance. I figured it was more like a preference. From reading the Spiker thread is seems as if he did all the rigging on his boat, is that correct? It also looks like you both use a similiar style offshore engine mount, where did you get them? Were they custom made? They do not seem to look like any of the others available.

It appears I will only have a maximum of 76 inches in the engine compartment for a staggered config. A 600 bravo staggered config uses 77.39 inches. The reason for the limit is the engine hatches and the interior. To gain any more space it will require to start from square one and redesign the engine hatches and back seat.

I have to believe you can make up that 1 1/2 inch shortage some other way than a complete redesign. Or do you believe you will actually need more room than a 600 sci setup?

I keep meaning to tell you, you need to design an additional bottle holder devixe to incorporate there because at 100+, in 4 to 5's, they will not stay where you place them without additional support......
