Can you tell from the prop if you hit something or if it was some type of fatigue?
I'm guessing fatigue, those props had done a few hours and had been modified by one of our prop guys by adding a bead of weld to it to give us a bit more cupping, won't try that trick again!

Hi Ben - Everyone of fine in Cowes, just another year older!

Welded the ends of the blades? Have you ever tried that before?

Our prop guy tried welding a bead along the trailing edge of the blades and then shaping and balancing them to give us a bit of cupping and some bow lift - it worked a bit but it didn't make a big difference, we used the props as they were as good as another set but I think it must have made them susceptible to breaking! Won't try that again!

We are running Arneson 1721's and there are a limited number of props around with the pitch and diameter we require - there aren't that many props around with a 19 spline shaft anyway! Anyone on here got some?

All of the old #3's were 19 spline, weren't they? Is the diameter of the shaft etc the same?

    Rik, are you around?

    Cookee,

What pitch and diameter range are you looking for? Blade count?

We're currently using a 3 blade 28" X 16" - we need the diameter to reach the water on the Arneson but more blades would be good!

No the minimum diameter we need is 16" preferably 17" by around 28" pitch

........... I think #3 props might fit although ours are only 4 1/2" long shafts we can successfully shorten props to suit.

    Cookee,

Mike Bontoft has these, 2X 1R 1L long hub 16/29
    2x 1R 1L long hub 18/26

He's cleaning house! Do you have his contact info?

I have the same drive as you and have found that bigger diameter is better. I'm running a 17.75"x24" pitch four blade. Started with a three blade round ear 15"x20 pitch

Might be a long shot, but Teague had a lot of these old style propellers from ?? Give him a shout as he would be very happy to get rid of the old inventory.

YES we do have quite a few pairs of 19 spline props... 3 and 4 blades if I remember correctly. I'm in Michigan this weekend, but call me at the shop Monday and I'll see if we have something that will fit your needs!

    Here are a few:

And if you look carefully you can see the piece of the prop that broke off!
