I am finally getting around to adding showers to my bravos. Everything is working well, but I see that the paint has lost its gloss there. I have seen some steam coming off of plane, and it ain't the engines. Time for showers.

Who likes what? I kind of like the top cap kind. but I don't like drilling the cav plate so much. I like the Simrek halos, especially installation method. But I wonder if the cap gets cooled enough.

Thanks for your input. I'd like to get something ordered.

I see that Livorsi has something called a drive shower hose for latham. I guess it connects to the latham top steering plate? I have latham external. What's that all about? Does it still use a top cap cover?

    Pretty sure mine is Latham.
Top cap that mounts over the existing.
My boat was orig a TRS, so it has a thru-hull water pickup for engine cooling.
When previous owner converted it to Bravo, he used the drive pickup to feed the shower. Makes sense to me. Kept the thru-hull for motor cooling. More drag, but it's not like im looking to break a speed record...
I'll try to get a few pics for you tomorrow when I'm down there.

I've been told by more than one person the Simrek is the best for all around cooling. Does the top and sides.

I was looking at the Simrek, but wondered about my latham front covers and my steering rams.

The Simrek doesn't need a hole in the cav plate, which is nice.

The Simrek doesn't actually do the top. They say that the sides are better.

I sent Simrek a pic of my stern to see what they think as far as interference with their tubes. No word yet.

They also make one that goes over the top, besides the one that goes around.

That is the Summit series on an Alpha.
Not worth changing to Alphas just to get it over the top cap.

Still no email back from Simrek. It is vacation season, I know.

I have been busy as heck but wanted to update that I got a nice email from Paul at Simrek yesterday afternoon.
He's gonna look at a pic and see if the halo Max will clear my hardware.

If I recall from the Simrek email, we are looking for 5/8 between the head of the bolt that holds the steering ram and the side of the plate inside where the drive meets the plate.
